Welcome

Hello, dear friend and welcome to my little corner! My name is Natasha and I am a wife, mom, teacher, life coach, photographer, pilates instructor and entrepreneur. In short, I am a Multi Passionate Mom making the best of all my talents.

How did I end up with all of these passions you may ask? The answer is definitely not by choice! When I graduated from high school my plan was set – I was going to be a high school science teacher. In order to reach this career goal I completed my Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Genetics and Zoology and then a Post Graduate Certificate in Life Science Education (PGCE). During the year that I was completing my PGCE, I started becoming interested in Pilates and decided to complete my instructors course. By the end of 2018 I was both a qualified Pilates instructor and a qualified Science teacher – after many hours of theory and practicals in both fields. However, I didn’t quite feel like I was where I needed to be career wise.

So with this is mind I decided to continue my studies in the teaching field by applying to do my Honours in Life Science Education. Right at the end of the year I was approached by a school in the area to apply for a maternity post (I would have to stand in for a few months while the teacher went on maternity leave). Even though it wasn’t my plan to start working yet, I had just gotten married to my husband and the extra income would help immensely so I took a chance and applied. I was fortunate enough to get the job and the next January I started working as a Life Science teacher while studying for my honours and giving Pilates classes on the side.

I am not going to lie, the first few months were a whirlwind and I honestly don’t know how I managed to navigate being newly married, studying and working 2 jobs. By the end of February I was already burned out. The stress of trying to keep up with all my responsibilities started to get to me and I had to start scaling back. I decided to give up my Pilates clients in order to focus on my teaching job and my studying and things started to feel a bit more manageable.

In March I stumbled upon a company that offered a self-development course that intrigued me so much that I immediately signed up for it. During the course I was introduced to the world of Life Coaching and it was as if something in me just knew I had to learn more – and so I signed up for all the courses.

My time as a teacher continued to be extremely stressful as my studies become more demanding and I felt like I wasn’t coping with challenges that come with being a high school teacher. However, I grew immensely as a person and as a teacher during this period of my life.

In August my husband and I found out we were pregnant and we were overjoyed! My Life Coaching course was scheduled for September and after I completed it I decided that was what I would like to focus on instead of full time teaching. After I finished my time at the school I started actively marketing myself as a Life Coach, but I was disappointed to find out not everyone was willing to pay for this service like I thought they would. Nevertheless, I persisted! After about a month of not even an enquiry I realised I would have to have start thinking about a backup plan and so I fell into Photography.

The photography picked up much quicker than I thought it would and it was something I really enjoyed. We had invested in a decent camera for our honeymoon the year before and with the help from some Youtube videos and Udemy courses I quickly became familiar with the manual mode on my camera. All the while still studying and marketing myself as a Life Coach.

By the end of 2019 I was in a very difficult place. Who was I? What career was I in? When I filled in documentation and it asked for my occupation what was I supposed to write? Student? Teacher? Life Coach? Pilates Instructor? Photographer? Soon to be mom? Or was I just suppose to write “Multiple” and keep them guessing? My whole life I thought you could only write one thing, but by using this platform I want to embrace the “multiple.”

My purpose in writing this blog is share my passion for different fields while letting others like me know that it is okay to be multi passionate.

So welcome to my journey of navigating being a new mom while pursuing multiple passions at once. I hope this platform will inspire and motivate you.
